The Lebanese Center for Civic Education, in partnership with Maharat Foundation, conducted a series of training seminars in Akkar to activate the role of women to participate in public life.
Eighty-two women participated in these sessions within the Union of Municipalities of Northern Akkar, Union of Municipalities of Al-Duraib Al-Awsat, Union of Municipalities of Jouma, Union of Municipalities of Shafat, and Union of Municipalities of the plain of Akkar . Certificates of participation were distributed to the young women in the unions centers.
The "FREE" project is implemented by the Lebanese Center for Civic Education in partnership with the Maharat Foundation and with the support of the International Organization of La Francophonie through its funds "La Francophonie avec Elles" in cooperation with five unions of municipalities in Akkar.
